The British artistic group STOMP are returning to Prague! They are also heading to Ostrava for the first time.
The dance kings from Great Britain STOMP are coming to the Czech Republic at the beginning of 2020! Performances of their show known worldwide and suitable even for families will take place at the Prague Congress Centre. Then, they will perform in Ostrava Multifunctional Gong Hall for the first time ever.
In January and February 2020, Czech audience can thus witness a spectacular dance show in which STOMP members do not hesitate to use everything: lighters and cans, trash cans and even a kitchen sink for creating their rhythm.
The unique mix of percussion, dance, theatre and comedy with original music inspired by the hustle and bustle of everyday life, was first seen in Brighton, UK, in the summer of 1991. The group had been formed by Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas. Both founders had worked in the street band Pookiesnackenburger and were also members of the theatre company called Cliff Hanger. Their long-lasting cooperation since the 80s formed a basis for today's STOMP.
The group has grown from the original eight members to forty performers from twelve different countries. In the more than 28 years of their performing, STOMP have played over twenty thousand performances and were seen and admired by over 12 million viewers in more than 50 countries around the world. In the past, celebrities such as Michael Douglas, Demi Moore, Bruce Willis, Harrison Ford and others have appeared in their popular dance and rhytmical show.
